Cracking the Code of Municipal Magic
Municipality-based sustainable business models inherently intersect with many intricate issues unique to local and regional contexts. Academia excels in exploring these nuances through a wealth of existing and ongoing research efforts.
Areas such as sustainable urban planning, community-driven entrepreneurship, environmental policy analysis, foundational economics, life cycle assessments or social impact assessment are just a few examples of the diverse fields where academia contributes invaluable insights. Developing integrative approaches necessarily requires such topic-related in-depth reflections by academics.
Our contribution can enrich current research by presenting a fresh and comprehensive method for creating competitive community-driven strategies to reduce negative externalities. Our innovative triadic approach involves combining insights from various disciplines to develop resilient institutional arrangements that prioritize social and environmental responsibility and foster an entirely different type of „economic viability“: Rather than viewing ethics as a mere component of business, we assert that ethics form the essence of business itself. This perspective underscores the vital importance of community connectivity in understanding and embodying ethical principles within business practices.
